“ Jennifer was our server. She was wonderfully attentive. Fried chicken, salmon patty, ham, fried catfish were absolutely fantastic! Also the Mac and cheese, yams, squash casserole, and cabbage were wonderful! We werent fans of the Alabam slaw...but to each their own. We ordered the blackberry cobbler and banana pudding that were heavenly! Real sweet tea was the best weve ever had. We will be back tomorrow for a real southern breakfast. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ”

“ First time going here. I was greeted upon entry. I placed my order over the phone and it was ready within 15 min, no problems over the phone or at pick up. The host was nice. They dont have military discount but I ordered the country fried steak, green beans, onions and a sweet tea. The tea was sweet! The food was bomb, the steak gravy was a little bit salty and there wasnt a lot of onions in the gravy, I was expecting the gravy to be white because of the picture I saw but it was still good. The cabbage and green beans was exactly what I was looking for! Not overcooked or under but perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bread was a lil dry for me but tasted good! I got this food to go but will def be back to dine in and try more. ”

“ I first passed this place in 2008! I thought the name was odd and never imagined 17 years later I would be sitting there eating! The food is seasoned just right! I had the flounder, cabbage, sweet potatoes and mac and cheese with cornbread. Everyone in our party said their food was really good. The service is great and a regular customer beside us struck up a conversation with us. We had a great experience there. I was there celebrating a real estate closing with the new homeowner and Lizards Thicket did not disappoint. I will make a point to visit whenever I am in the area again. ”

“ I was in Columbia, SC, for the day, and it was close to lunch time. I asked a friend who is from SC, which restaurant would have good food. He suggested Lizards Thicket. Im glad I had lunch there because it is home cooked southern food like your grandma would make if youre from the South. I had three vegetables with 2 fried chicken legs. Everything was made fresh from the fried okra to the deepfried chicken. You even get cornbread or rolls with your meal. If youre in Columbia, I highly recommend eating here for some home cooked southern food. ”
